Daiwa 21 TD SOL MQ 4000D-C
21 Daiwa TD Sol MQ Spin Fishing Reel
Fewer reels in the Daiwa range are as iconic as the TD SOL. The vibrant orange a distinct trait which is instantly recognisable on the water. Now for the first time, TD SOL receives the Monocoque Body (MQ) treatment with the release of TD SOL MQ.
The orange-coloured body has never looked so good, with Monocoque (MQ) technology delivering all the benefits that anglers have enjoyed in reels like EXIST, CERTATE and SALTIGA. Now available in TD SOL MQ, Monocoque body delivers an all-round improved reel structure. Firstly, reducing potential ingress points for water and debris into the gearbox, MQ reels remove the normal side plate design. MQ bodies are IPX rated thanks to the elimination of that seam and the screws which traditionally hold the side plate to the main body assembly.
Secondly, MQ equipped reels enjoy the additional volume created inside the gearbox by installing a drive gear which is much larger diameter than reels without MQ technology. To put it simply, MQ equipped reels have a bigger gear and therefore have increased power, durability, and torque than competitor reels.
TD SOL MQ’s body is made from Daiwa’s new ZAION V material. A high rigidity carbon composite material which can be formed into incredibly tough & rigid bodies which are impervious to the harsh destructive elements of saltwater fishing.
TD SOL steps ahead when it comes to the rotor and bail design, incorporating a ZAION Air Rotor and seamless one-piece Airbail construction usually reserved for reels like EXIST and CERTATE. This lightweight and rigid rotor design gives TD SOL MQ incredibly low start-up inertia, meaning the feel for the angler is one of lightweight rotation & incredible performance.
Daiwa’s MAGSEAL is prevalent on TD SOL MQ, with both the body & line roller benefitting from this frictionless seal to prevent saltwater intrusion.
A host of other Daiwa technology including Long Cast ABS spool structure, ATD drags (2000S & 2500S feature felt washers, 2500D, 3000D & 4000D-C are Carbon) and Twistbuster II make TD SOL MQ the most highly featured TD SOL since the iconic orange reel first landed in Australia.
If you’re looking for a feature-packed small spinning reel capable of tussling with a host of fresh and saltwater predators, look no further than the eye-catching TD SOL MQ.
Product Features:
Monocoque (MQ) – One Piece Body
MQ Body takes reel design to the next level. The MQ system does not require conventional side plate, instead using an engine plate to screw directly to the body. Eliminating the need for screws to hold a body cover in place. MQ body improves the strength of the reel, it also improves the water-resistance of the body and allows a larger diameter drive gear to be installed.
ABS-Longcast – Long Cast Spool Technology
Compared to conventional spools, the LC-ABS has been shown to increase the average flight distance by approx. 5% due to its reduced weight and modified shape.
Air-Bail
Daiwa’s innovative bail design features a hollow tubular stainless steel bail that delivers maximum rigidity and strength with minimum weight. Featuring a smooth protrusion-free design and construction line easily slides unencumbered along the Air Bail towards the line roller for trouble free line control.
Air-Rotor – Lightweight Rotor
Lighter, stronger, and more balanced than any rotor system that’s come before, ‘Air Rotor’ delivers a great leap forward in rotor design and function and delivers the ultimate line roller support. Made from Zaion and featuring a redesigned arch that disperses pressure to the lower section of the rotor to reduce stressing and flexing, the design is further enhanced with a hollowed-out construction reducing weight, while increasing reel sensitivity and rotational balance.
ATD-Drag – Automatic Tournament Drag
Daiwa’s Automatic Tournament Drag uses an improved drag grease that exhibits a low viscosity at rest, yet becomes more viscous immediately after drag start up. This reduces initial drag start-up inertia and combined with the structural changes of the ATD Drag System results in a smoother drag from the initial hook up.
LT Concept
LT (Light Tough) technology is based four key elements, Lighter, Tougher, more drag, and more bearings. Featuring a new compact body design and Tough Digigear LT reels introduce a new level of lightness and toughness to spin reel design.
Magsealed-Body
Ultimate protection is delivered to the engine room of the reel with a magnetised oil seal located on the main shaft of the reel’s rotor shutting the door to the elements and unwanted intruders. Dust, water, and salt intrusion into the inner workings of a reel are a thing of the past with MagSeal.
Magsealed Line Roller
One of the hardest working and exposed areas of a spin reel is provided with ultimate protection with a MagSealed line roller bearing shutting out the elements for optimum line roller protection, performance and longevity.
Screw In Handle
Simplicity and effortless at its finest a screw-in handle features on our mid to high-end reels. Handle removal is as simple as back winding the handle, or forward winding for handle installation.
Twist Buster II – Advanced Line Management
The new and improved line twist reduction system takes line taming to another level with its tapered line roller enhanced to eliminate line twist like never before. More advanced and more equipped at reducing twist in fluorocarbon and mono than its predecessor, Twistbuster II is the answer to your line twist nightmares.
Zaion V Body – Woven High Density Carbon Resin
A new generation of lightweight Daiwa’s resin and carbon material. The Zaion V material is both strong and incredibly lightweight.
